Author Bio

Dr. Araceli Feliz has been an educator for 22 years serving the students, teachers, and community of the Southern San Joaquin Valley of Central California for the greater part of her career. Dr. Feliz’s professional career includes serving as a teacher, curriculum coach, school administrator, and district administrator working with populations of underrepresented students. She served as the principal at two Title I schools. Araceli served as an adjunct instructor in the English department at a community college and in the school of education of a private university.

Dr. Feliz earned her Doctorate in Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California (USC).  Her dissertation Teach Them to Read: Implementing High Leverage Pedagogical Strategies to Increase English Language Learner Academic Achievement was inspired by her professional experience working with underrepresented student populations and her own desire to understand her educational journey as an English Language LearnerShe earned a Master’s Degree in Education with a Reading and Language Arts Emphasis and a Reading Specialist Credential from Fresno State. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
